Our Story
When we bought a British Warmblood named Zantalas, we had no idea how her story would inspire us
meet zanta
Zantalas (stable name for Zanta) joined our family in March 2023. She was a proper competition horse with the biggest heart, and it didn't take long for everyone to fall in love with this 16.2 hand snugglebug! We had big plans for her to help the girls improve their jumping, as she'd already jumped much higher than they had.
Unfortunately, three weeks in she was badly lame - and after much digging, we discovered she'd had a previous injury that hadn't been disclosed when we bought her. After many (many) vet bills, and many sleepless nights, we were told that she shouldn't be competing anymore. We were heartbroken; but we felt we had no choice other than to find her a less demanding home. So we made the emotional decision to re-home her with the lovely Amelia, who had been looking for the perfect horse to become her new baby. We instantly knew they were perfect for each other. Luckily for us, Amelia is always happy for us to visit - and thrilled to have a fashion line named after her baby!
zantalas is born
After spending the last 25 years trying to fit my love for horses around my day job in marketing, it felt like a natural step to try and harness our family's passion for all things equine to create our own business. It's been a steep learning curve - but with the generous help of some brilliant friends and colleagues (especially Gen and Phil, the creative genius behind our logo!) we've been able to create our very own fashion brand. We really hope you'll like what we've done!
Missy, Princess, Zanta & Luis
Since our equine love affair started, we have been privileged to have four beautiful souls become part of our family. We would have kept them all forever, but the girls just kept growing!!
Missy the cob was our first and most magical horse; she now lives with Hannah, who has become a close friend. Princess, Amy's beautiful first jumping pony, only recently moved 10 minutes down the road to live with 12-year-old Phoenix (who is a die-hard fan of our socks). Of course Zanta is living her spoilt life with Amelia. That leaves us with Luis, our most recent addition - a chestnut sports horse and much adored super-dude! We also adore riding Jasmine's competition horses, Verdi and Saskia, who have also become part of the family (along with Jasmine!). Our ambition is for Zantalas to be successful enough to buy a field they can all retire in together when the time comes...
